A Silver Lining Of COVID-19

Food in your fridge. Staying off of a ventilator. How much love you have for others. How much you help others.

This is what it means to be successful today.

Today’s Coronavirus Thoughts

Two butterflies are ballet dancing just above my front lawn while I’m sitting outside having coffee.

Spontaneously and simultaneously choreographed by the great string puller in the sky.

They separate and find each other. Separate and find each other. Separate and find each other.

Butterfly kissing the way young lovers do.

Seemingly without any knowledge of what we humans are going through and might be facing.

But maybe they’re dancing so gleefully today because they’re waiting to get their planet back from us. Since, obviously, we can’t be trusted with it.

But hopefully, after the dust settles and the virus disappears, we’ll finally learn to live more harmoniously with our brothers and sisters.

Regardless of species.

P.S – Please don’t allow social media to fear-shame you. These are authentically scary times. But with that, please keep a little space open for faith. We’re going to be okay. Love to you all.

Veal Karmasan

Maybe the coronavirus is universal retribution for how abysmally we have treated animals just so we can have our burgers and chicken wings and crab legs.

If so, regardless of how apocalyptic things become, we’ll be getting off easy.

Divorced From Judgment

They wiped tears from their eyes which made me wipe away a few of my own.

With that, I know my lack of success is most often how I’m judged but I sometimes reflexively cry just from the site of unguarded joy and today that’s enough. Enough for me.

And if joy and kindness and mercy and gratefulness and compassion melts you (as well as defines you), I swear to everything holy that you’re enough too.

I double dog dare you to find something better than this:

I was just pulling into a parking lot while an elderly couple crossed the street adjacent to my car.

The husband was half a step behind his wife and when she saw me inch closer, she instinctively reached back for his hand in mid conversation, and he instinctively took it.

We live in world plagued by illusions hell bent on convincing us that there are things more meaningful than this.

But there aren’t.

We can accept that now or on our death beds.

Thank you, as always, for trading your time for my words. It means the world to me.

Where Is God When Our Loved Ones Get Sick?

Burn The Feel

It’s official, I’ve encountered people more lopsided than trump supporters.

Bernie supporters who won’t vote blue if their precious candidate loses.

They think they’ll teach us a lesson.

I have some news for you, you fucking children, if we lose this election, it might be the last free one. Ever. They’ll be no one left of consequence to learn lessons.

DEMOCRACY IS DYING IN PLAIN SIGHT!

Trump, that awful phony Christian demon, was elected directly by non-voters.

And if he gets “elected” again, the people who traded their lives to protect us and our constitution, the hundreds of thousands throughout history, will have died in vain.

Their graves shitted upon.

Please put country over candidate.

Please.

I know you’re good people who want us to do better as a nation. But we can have our revolution after. After we win back our country.

Bernie or Biden. Please hold your nose and choose one.

They both, rather courageously, care about the least among us. Just in slightly different ways.

Please.

Thank you.

I love you.

P.S. I’m sorry to be so hardcore but lives are literally at stake here. Kids are dying in cages. The environment is eroding. Millions will lose health care.

This is the most important thing any of us will ever do.

We must be saved. And we can only save ourselves.

So when I say I’m sorry, I’m mean – not at all.
