A Letter To George Lucas
By donating the $4.05 billion you received from Disney for Lucasfilm, I fully forgive you for Jar Jar Binks, midi-chlorians, Yoda’s backflips and making Han shoot first.
But I now have a favor to ask in light of the Hurricane Sandy situation: can you please round up your celebrity friends and read this Andrew Carnegie quote to them, “The man who dies rich, dies disgraced.”
Although I appreciate Springsteen’s and Joel’s benefit concert for the victims of the storm (there’s four feet of water in my parent’s house), A-listers shouldn’t be able to fall asleep without feeling utterly embarrassed if they aren’t writing fat checks to help those in need.
Thankfully, the force is strong with you.
