A Letter To A New HBO Movie
Dear Hemingway & Gellhorn,
Do you believe in love at first sight? Because you have swept me off of my feet.
And please trust me, I’m not your typical TV watcher. I’m relatively unimpressed with Game of Thrones, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire and even Entourage. The Sopranos barely scratched my surface.
But Hemingway & Gellhorn, I have fallen for you as if you were cut from the same cloth as Casablanca.
“There’s nothing to writing Gellhorn, you just sit at your typewriter and bleed.” This line, delivered in the middle of the masterpiece that you are, inspired words of my own:
Movies are better than real life because they wake you up to real life.
But allow me a moment to woo you with Ingrid Bergman, “No form of art goes beyond ordinary consciousness as film does, straight to our emotions, deep into the twilight of the soul.”
With love and gratitude,
“In, Gabe Berman shares his recipe for living a more joyful, worthwhile, and abundant life in every way. A witty, entertaining, and insightful read.” ~Deepak Chopra
